I ordered a jumbo flyer for my Ashford Traveller spinning wheel. I have utilized the standard flyer and bobbins since I first bought the wheel, and the limit of 3-4oz per bobbin has been chafing (and feels even more limiting when plying)

I also ordered 3 bobbins for the new flyer

The flyer was incredibly easy to install -- I unscrewed the piece that holds the flyer orifice, and screwed in the new piece, then the flyer was just a simple swap out

The jumbo flyer came with a jumbo bobbin, so overall I have 4 new bobbins

My original wheel is unfinished wood, so I selected unfinished wood (vs lacquered) for my new flyer and bobbins. I have been treating the unfinished wood is periodically wiping it down with Feed-N-Wax

I started treating the new flyer and bobbins with the Feed-N-Wax... and I noticed that the new bobbins are different sizes from one another (though all bigger than the original standard bobbins that hold 3-4oz)

It turns out that I misordered, and didn't pick "Jumbo" for the extra bobbins (instead selecting double drive bobbins that are compatible with sliding hook flyers). They can only hold up to 5oz of fiber or so. Sigh. Not a terrible situation, but not what I intended! The real jumbo bobbins hold up to 8oz or so. I may be making a follow-up order, haha!
